Sorry it took me this long to get a fix out there for my CP article, but I've been quite busy at home. The web service that I used to demonstrate a long running task switch to a subscription usage. So you will need to register with them to get your own username/password to get the demo to work. You can get the updated source from here.
I've made it very easy to apply your own username and password to the the demo. Under the web.config and <appSettings /> section, fill in the username and password values respectively.
