I am not sure if any of you know this, but I'm very involved in our local .NET community. I'm currently the Program Chair for the Iowa DotNET User's Group (IADNUG) based out of Des Moines, IA. My main responsibilities are arranging meeting topics, guest speakers and maintaining member resources. Prior to working with IADNUG, I was involved in doing 'Tech Talks' at Iowa State University, where we tried to preach the '.NET word' to CS, CprE and MIS students.
One of my goals is to become more involved with the 'online' .NET community. During college, I was involved with DevHood since I had infinite amount of free time. But now that I'm out in the working world, it's hard to find the time to answer a few questions. However, recently I've found that taking a couple hours of my day to help people in forums, like the ones at Code Project, actually makes me a better member of the community. Why? Well, I've always been a strong believer that teaching is the best way to learn. I've spent some time the past couple of days answering some posts and I've realized that, it's been a while since I've played with other 'areas' of .NET (i.e. Remoting, WinForms, etc.).
So I encourage you to do the same. Take the time to help fellow developers on their quest for knowledge! And by the way, if you need any help, feel free to contact me or post your question in Code Project! Who knows, you might see me answering one your posts.
