A Non-Coding Architect (NCA) can be detrimental to the success of a project. These Word/IvoryTower architects can be pretty dogmatic when it comes to standards and back-in-the-day methods. A couple of weeks ago, I read this really great post that outlines ways you can spot out the dreaded NCA and gives you some pointers on how you can help alleviate the situation.
